Nanzoin Temple

Nanzoin Temple's origin is related to Narihira who's one of the most famous poets in 9th century.
When he traveled around here, there was a boat accident in Sumida River.
Many people died. He mourned for victims of the accident, made a statue and put Buddhist scriptures in the mound.

A temple was built next to the mound in 14th century.
Layout of the temple was set to imply Sumida River, a bridges and a boat.
