Iwabuchi Water Gates

Iwabuchi Water Gates are on Arakawa River controlling the current from Arakawa River to Sumida River.

There'er two water gates.
Old water gate is called "Red water gate" which was built in 1924.
This has not been in operation after New one was built in 1982.

New water gate is called "Blue water gate" which is now in operation.

When we have too much water, this water gate is shut to avoid flood in Sumida River.
