Theatre Museum

Full name is Waseda University The Tsubouchi Memorial Theatre Museum.
This museum was built in 1928 to celebrate 70th birthday of Shoyo Tsubouchi and accomplishment of his translation of complete works of Shakespeare.

Design of the architecture mimics Fortune Theater of 16th century in England.
There's a stage in front of the building.

Permanent exhibition covers history of theater in the world and Japan.
It is very interesting to see costumes, masks, pictures and theater related items.

Besides permanent exhibition, special exhibitions will be held twice a year, in spring and autumn.
